FatX Core · Shimbashi & Ginza
An injection that breaks down fat cells in one area and lets the body clear them. Nothing is cut. A very fine needle is used so the marks do not stand out, and topical anaesthetic is available at extra cost if you would rather have it — ask at the consultation. The drug used is not approved in Japan — what that means is set out in full further down, and you should read it before booking.
FatX Core is ¥8,000 per cc under 10cc and ¥7,000 per cc from 10cc at Shinbashi Ginza Swift Clinic in Shimbashi, Tokyo, with a first session of 1cc to 20cc at ¥4,000 per cc. As a guide, the area under the chin usually takes 2 to 5cc and the belly 10 to 20cc. A session takes about 30 minutes, with the injection itself around 10 minutes. The drug is not approved in Japan — see the notes below. All of it is self-pay.
| Volume | Guide | Price per cc |
|---|---|---|
| First session, 1–20cc | — | ¥4,000 |
| Under 10cc | Under the chin: 2–5cc | ¥8,000 |
| From 10cc | Around the belly: 10–20cc | ¥7,000 |
How many cc you need depends on the area and on how much there is, and that is decided at the consultation. See the full price list for everything else we do.
FatX Core breaks down fat cells directly in the area injected, and the body then clears them. Because it works on the area you point at, it is used where diet and exercise tend not to reach: the face — cheeks and under the chin — the upper arms, the belly and waist, and the thighs and buttocks.
Most people notice the change over two to four sessions, though that varies. What happens afterwards matters too: attention to what you eat and how much you move is generally recommended alongside it. How many sessions and how far apart is something the doctor sets out at the consultation.
Even if none of these apply, the doctor may decide not to treat depending on your history, your current medication and how you are on the day.
You can be seen here without speaking Japanese. Consultations are handled with a translation app and written notes rather than by an English-speaking doctor, which works well for treatments where the decision is straightforward — repeat prescriptions, testing, hair removal — and is slower where you have a complicated history to explain. Treatment information, pricing and access details on these pages are in English. The booking system and the pre-visit questionnaire are in Japanese, so message us on LINE beforehand if you would like help completing them.
At this clinic, ¥8,000 per cc under 10cc and ¥7,000 per cc from 10cc, with a first session of 1 to 20cc at ¥4,000 per cc. As a guide the area under the chin takes 2 to 5cc and the belly 10 to 20cc. It is self-pay, so Japanese national health insurance is not required for the fees listed here.
No. The drug used is not approved as a pharmaceutical in Japan and is obtained through an authorised domestic distributor. There is no pharmaceutical approved in Japan with the same active ingredient and the same indication. Because it is an unapproved drug, the Japanese relief system for adverse drug reactions does not apply, even if a serious side effect occurs.
How the change shows up varies between people. Most people notice it over two to four sessions. Attention to what you eat and how much you move afterwards is generally recommended. The number of sessions and the interval are set by the doctor at the consultation.
There can be. Swelling, puffiness, redness and reduced sensation in the area typically last one to three days, and a stiffness in the treated area can appear from one to two weeks afterwards. How much and how long varies between people.
Yes. It cannot be given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with severe liver or kidney disease, with an allergy to any component, where the skin is infected or inflamed, with a severe bleeding disorder, with an autoimmune disease — scleroderma in particular — or during chemotherapy.
