What you need to know

Important information

  • Injection site bruising, temporary headache, and asymmetry or heaviness in the treated muscle can occur. Effects are temporary and wear off over months.
  • Not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where you have a neuromuscular disorder. Tell the doctor about every medicine you take.
  • All treatments on this page are self-pay (自由診療). Japanese national health insurance does not apply, and the full amount is charged at the clinic.
  • Prices shown include consumption tax and are the prices at the time of writing. They can change without notice — the price confirmed at your consultation is the one that applies.
  • Any medicine can cause side effects. A doctor reviews your history and current medication before prescribing, and will decline to prescribe where it is not safe to do so.

Coming as an English speaker

You can be seen here without speaking Japanese. Consultations are handled with a translation app and written notes rather than by an English-speaking doctor, which works well for treatments where the decision is straightforward — repeat prescriptions, testing, hair removal — and is slower where you have a complicated history to explain. Treatment information, pricing and access details on these pages are in English. The booking system and the pre-visit questionnaire are in Japanese, so message us on LINE beforehand if you would like help completing them.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does it last?

For expression lines, generally three to four months, after which the muscle gradually regains movement and the treatment is repeated. Sweating treatment typically lasts longer — often through a summer.

Botox for sweating — does that work?

Yes, and it is one of the better-established uses. Injections into the underarm block the signal to the sweat glands, reducing both volume and the odour that comes with it. Two price points are listed because more than one preparation is used; the doctor will explain which applies to you and why before you agree to anything.

Botox for hay fever?

Applied inside the nose rather than injected into muscle, to reduce a running nose and itching during pollen season. ¥8,900. It treats the symptoms for a period, not the allergy itself.

Will I look frozen?

That is a dosing question. Say clearly at the consultation how much movement you want to keep — it is far easier to add a little more at a later visit than to wait out too much.
