Mounjaro available at our clinic

Mounjaro is an injectable medicine containing tirzepatide. It is approved in Japan for type 2 diabetes, but cosmetic or weight-loss use is off-label. Its approved indications differ from those of Zepbound, which contains the same active ingredient. Manufacturer's Japanese prescribing information
Use and checks during treatment
It is administered as a subcutaneous injection once weekly. Follow your doctor's instructions on dose and when to increase it. In addition to weight changes, food and fluid intake and side effects need to be reviewed. Before use, receive instructions from your healthcare provider on self-injection and handling used devices.
Missed doses and storage are explained in injection instructions and missed doses and storage.
What to understand about its effects
Tirzepatide's effects on body weight have been studied in clinical trials, but interpretation depends on the study population, dose and duration. Trial results and how to reassess effects alongside your health are explained in research on effects and checks during continued treatment.
We cannot guarantee how many kilograms you will lose or when changes will occur. Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare warns that efficacy and safety have not been established for cosmetic or slimming use of Mounjaro. Before starting, understand the off-label status and associated risks. Ministry warning
Side effects and advice during use
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation and abdominal pain may occur. Low blood glucose, acute pancreatitis, biliary disorders, severe allergic reactions and ileus also require attention. If you develop persistent severe abdominal pain with vomiting or similar symptoms, stop using the medicine and promptly seek medical assessment. Prescribing information §§8 and 11
For detailed symptoms and low blood glucose precautions, see side effects and symptoms requiring medical attention.
When we cannot prescribe it and precautions before consultation
The consultation may determine that we cannot prescribe this medicine. As a clinic policy, we do not prescribe it to people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of pancreatitis, or have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer.
There are also conditions in which the medicine must not be used, such as type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis or an allergy to its ingredients. Tell the doctor about your medical history, possible pregnancy and planned surgery or anaesthesia. Contraception also needs to be reviewed during treatment and for 1 month after the final dose. Prescribing information §§2 and 9
Other medicines
Always tell us if you use diabetes medicines such as insulin, oral contraceptives, warfarin or other medicines. Mounjaro must not be combined with other tirzepatide products such as Zepbound. Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own; prepare a current medicine list or medication record. Prescribing information §§8 and 10
When reviewing your medicines, also see medical history and other medicines to discuss before consultation.
Off-label use and payment
Treatment at our clinic is self-pay and is not covered by Japanese health insurance. Serious harm caused by off-label cosmetic or slimming use is highly likely to be ineligible for benefits under Japan's Relief System for Adverse Drug Reactions. Ministry notice on the relief system
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose 5mg or 7.5mg from the start?
Strength is not determined by preference alone. The doctor decides after reviewing previous use and your health. Do not increase the dose yourself.
Can I receive the medicine at room temperature?
Our clinic specifies a refrigerated-delivery shipping fee. After arrival, store the medicine at 2–8°C, protected from light, and do not freeze it. If you are unsure of the storage conditions, ask before using it.
Does booking guarantee a prescription?
The doctor reviews your health, medical history and other medicines during the consultation. Depending on the assessment, a prescription may not be provided.
Can I calculate my total payment by adding the medicine and shipping prices?
Medicine prices are shown in the table above, and refrigerated shipping is JPY 1,050. Your actual payment needs to be confirmed based on your prescription and consultation-related costs. Do not assume the displayed medicine price is the total; confirm the final cost during the consultation.
Can I order the medicine without a consultation?
At our clinic, a doctor examines you and decides whether to prescribe and which strength is appropriate. Whether starting or continuing, tell the doctor about previous use and your health.
When will it arrive?
Confirm dispatch and receipt information during your consultation. Mounjaro is sent by refrigerated delivery. For storage after arrival, see storage instructions.
Information current as of 2026-10-08. All treatments at our clinic are self-funded and are not covered by Japanese public health insurance. Diagnosis and prescribing require a medical consultation.
